As the BDP celebrates its 50th anniversary, how far has Botswana's most successful political party so far taken women on board?

FRANCISTOWN: As Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) faithful commemorate the party's 50th anniversary, former cabinet minister, Dr Gaositwe Chiepe, has encouraged women in politics to position themselves strategically.

"Women must fight for anything they want to achieve and desist from this expectation that things will always come to them on a silver platter simply because they are women," says the 86-year old retired politician.
