When Faith Tears Family Apart

He has never known peace since 'God' came into his house through a West African church about five years ago. Thata says he does not even sleep with his wife these days because she is never there for him. He has been suffering silently for almost five years since his wife Angela (not real name) started going to the church in Gaborone. Before his wife joined the church, Thata's family used to enjoy a good upper middle class life with a combined monthly salary of about P40,000. But now he has numerous complaints and blames the West African church, whose regional headquarters are in Randburg, South Africa for his problems.

He has lost control of his family. His wife, he says values the church over him despite the fact that they have been married for over 20 years.
