We do not recognise Motswaledi's suspension

Just over a year ago, a group of young professionals, students, workers and unemployed citizens gathered in a quiet and undisclosed location in Gaborone.

They came to lend moral and technical support to a project they deeply believed in: They were determined to send to parliament, Gomolemo Motswaledi, an unimpeachable democrat of our time, a new torch-bearer of the ideals of a great political movement, the Botswana Democratic Party.

These volunteers have since set in motion a movement within a movement, a new life breathed by individuals whose work is threaded together by a respect for others, a willingness to learn, a spirit of honesty, fairness and truthfulness - a desire to win, a commitment to serve without expectation for material rewards, a beautiful work-ethic, a spartan work out-put, consistent punctuality, a capacity to understand that when one falls we all fall - that one's success is our own as a team - discipline, a democratic culture and focus on what matters - raising the burner higher than the generation before us.
