MATSILOJE: Matsiloje Clinic raised the hopes of two impoverished old women by building them toilets, after many years of using the bush and living in shacks. The toilets were handed over on Friday. Persia Matlhadisa, a nurse who coordinated the project said they donated P7,000 to buy the facilities.

Matlhadisa said the clinic raised funds and built the toilets for Garebihele Pateye (71) and Josephine Moalosi (71).

Their poverty compelled the clinic to do something, she said. "These women were our patients. When we visited them, their living conditions struck our humanity. They would be carried in wheelbarrows to neighbours' toilets.
