'Time for brass tack issues'

Electoral Officer for the March 25 elections of the leadership of the Botswana Federation of Trade Unions, Dr Kholisani Solo, a labour studies specialist at the University of Botswana, has declined to divulge names of nominees for the 10 executive positions on offer.

He set 12 o'clock Sunday night as the deadline when nominations will be closed, allowing for the announcement of eligible candidates on Tuesday. There is nevertheless common speculation that the emerging teachers' organisations of the primary, secondary and tertiary educational institutions are making a forceful bid for the leading positions at the BFTU.
