FRANCISTOWN: It is now common to see disillusioned Batswana gathered at the district labour offices across the country, hoping to get the elusive jobs.

They all have sad stories to tell about their endless search for employment. To some of them, it has almost become an annual ritual to gather in the area around the labour offices with the hope of getting a job.

Specialist publications show that the unemployment rate in Botswana stands at about 23.8 percent but unofficial estimates place it a bit higher at about 40 percent.
