Tekanelo Mohutsiwa was brutally butchered by her boyfriend who later took his own life in 2007. When that awful incident occurred, her family, living at Xhosa 1 in Mahalapye, was robbed of so much.

Her two young children lost a loving mother; her family lost a sister, a daughter and sole breadwinner.The aftermath of Tekanelo's touching death would continue to be felt in the Mohutsiwa family for many more years.

Her youngest son, Thabang, probably has a vague memory of what his mother's face looked like. He was only two-years-old when his mother  was murdered on that fateful Tuesday night. Before the passing of his mother, Thabang had been sick. The unexplained illness continues to haunt him after the horrific murder and has since affected both his physical and mental state.
