The motoring horizon of 2013

The 2013 North American International Auto Show kickstarted on Monday January 14, 2012 in Detroit city. Now in its 25th year, for the first few years the show was strictly regional. It has since grown, of course, to include merchandise from as far away as Asia and Europe.

Various manufacturers from around the globe come here to showcase some of their latest offerings. It is much like a fashion show. It is where you can find all your dream cars housed in one spot for a period of two weeks. Jim Seavitt, chairman of the 2013 North American Auto Show (NAIAS) said; "You walk on to the show floor, and immediately sense a renewed feeling of confidence in the automotive industry. It's clear that the industry is back, and the global manufacturers have saved their best for Detroit."

This event is amongst the most prestigious motoring shows worldwide. It provides access to all things now and anticipated. It is a good point of reference if one wants to find out what is next on the horizon. Generally, vehicles that are shown there or on many other shows are a good indicator of what a given manufacturer is trending towards, and this year looks set to be very exciting indeed. Looking back to the year past, some of the biggest arrivals can be summed up in the form of what the local arena had to offer here.
