The Intricacies Of Ritual Murders

FRANCISTOWN: Not far from Mmadikola village in Boteti, it is rumoured that there is a spot called BMC - Botswana Meat Commission.

People talk in whispers about the place saying it is a slaughterhouse for ritual murder victims. Villagers and the curious say the spot is an enclosure made of thorn-bushes like a kraal, though there are no livestock nearby. The place is always spookily empty.

A rumour doing the rounds in the vicinity of Mmadikola as well as Xhumo and Rakops is that the police once happened upon a group of men cutting up a person as he screamed at the spot. It is said the men were stark naked. After identifying their 'hairless baboon' (Tshwene e e senang boboa), ritual murderers are said to discuss which part they would excise.
