The hunt for medication an emotionally draining experience

FRANCISTOWN: It all begins with a simple statement. "You will have to check the nearest health facility we do not have the prescribed medication;" the nurse pronounces in a sweet melodious voice.

I quickly collect my medical card and leave. Little did I realise that this would be the beginning of a tedious and emotionally draining hunting expedition. The hunt for medication has started.

The first place that I think of is the Nyangabwe Referral Hospital. Two reasons mainly influence my choice of this facility. Its close proximity to Botswelelo clinic makes it the obvious choice.  It is also a big health facility and one hopes and expects it to have a large stock of medication.
