On Saturday November 1st 1969, an album titled Abbey Road by a British band known as The Beatles hit the No. 1 spot on the charts in that country.
The Beatles? The United Kingdom? What? That was not just some 43 years ago, but 8812 kilometres from here. However, on the same day here in Gaborone, and perhaps 43 years ago but as clear as it was yesterday, gardener, security guard, all-round helper David Gaoletlwe met young President Seretse Khama at the Gaborone Club. This is how it happened.
