The day CKGR lions eluded us!

MOLOSE CAMP: Just a single step into the world's biggest game reserve is one great achievement. But out of lack of interest and associating holidaying with Westerners, many Batswana are still unaware that they have a feature to pride themselves in - the Central Kalahari Game Reserve (CKGR) whose area alone is the size of France.

Through the courtesy of Big Foot Tours - a local tourism company - local journalists were recently able to sample the complete serenity of Khutse Game Reserve. Khutse is just a portion within the CKGR. Every time when the night fell it present bit of trouble to the tour guides, as most members of the groups could not adapt to the empty and dead life inside their tents. Just after Letlhakeng village cellphone networks lose reception and this alone prepares one for the worst experience to come.

We arrived at the CKGR entrance in the evening after over 100km drive on rough terrain. At this point fatigue had not yet found its way into our minds, as we were all anxious to experience what was in store for us. One thing that was common among the group was that everyone was looking forward to experiencing an encounter with the king of the jungle, a lion.
