Boys, carrying the burden of the stigma attached to malehood in an increasingly 'womanist' society, fall outside the scope of the sex debate that has become the major preoccupation of the 'sexual and reproductive health' professions that dominate all aspects of governance. Now in his middle 30s, Clive relaxes a little, drawing the energy to tell his story from his loquacious friend who had successfully broken the protective barrier the writer of this article had deliberately built around himself.

"I will not rest, Chumza, until the story of abused boys is told in your newspapers.  Maybe somebody can pick up something about some of the things that happen to young boys that are never talked about," Clive throws up the challenge.
