The BDP and the Khama magic: It's just a Myth

Titus Mbuya writes Khama: What the doctor ordered in relation to the just ended general elections won by the ruling Botswana Democratic Party (Mmegi Tuesday 20th October 2009).

He posits that Batswana have spoken, and that their message is loud and clear - they are solidly behind Ian Khama. Mbuya points out that even if they were not direct presidential election, these elections were about Khama.

I agree with him. But I do not think that it can be argued by any stretch of the imagination that the results were an emphatic and resounding victory for Ian Khama. The BDP got only 54 per cent of the popular vote, for crying out loud! What is emphatic and resounding about that?
