The baganne family hardships

SELEBI-PHIKWE: As I walk into the yard of the Baganne family at Kagiso Location, Plot 3875, I am suddenly surrounded by children of all ages. I realize that I have never been seen so many people of one family who live in a mere one-roomed house.

I am accompanied by Baboki Ludo Moalosi, the branch manager for BBS Selebi-Phikwe, who has been instrumental in the donation of food worth P1, 800 to this poor family. Children are running all over the yard and seated in front of the one-roomed house is an old woman taking her mid morning nap. She does not seem disturbed by the din made by her grand children.

We are shown to a shade by a young woman who identifies herself as Joyce Baganne (22) who is holding her young child with care. Baganne tells The Monitor that the family relies on the 82-year-old grandmother, simply called Mma Kelebogile, for food and care as she receives an old age pension.
