Teachers demand answers on Kerekeng flats

Teachers occupying the dilapidated Kerekeng Flats in Extension 10 want to know who owns the apartments in the face of high rentals they have to fork out every month.

The teachers allege that none of the government departments seem keen to take responsibility for the flats which they rent for as much as P1, 200, a vast difference from the P472 rental charge normally required of institutional houses of that standard.

The teachers renting the flats work at Gaborone and Ledumang senior secondary schools. They say their rentals are too high compared to their colleagues who pay subsidised rentals for institutional houses.
