Rabbit Breeding Is Big Business

What started as a mere hobby and a love for pets has eventually turned into a lucrative business for young Adawa Boitumelo Mahomed.

Since childhood she has always loved pets and to be specific, was passionate about taming rabbits. Now the Mahalapye-born youth says she is delighted that she can feed her passion by breeding rabbits every day and making a living at the same time.

Having completed her Cambridge at Mpepu Secondary School in Molepolole three years ago, and not immediately able to find a job or get a scholarship to further her studies, Mahomed says she bought two rabbits, which she intended to domesticate. But, according to her, this never became the case.
