Propaganda war erupts

The traditional belligerent relationship between the employer and the employee, which dates back as far as the period when humanity turned from an agrarian society towards industrialisation for its socio-economic needs, has taken a twist in Botswana. 

A protracted propaganda war is ongoing as public sector unions and government tussle. At the heart of the war, lies the issue of pay hikes, which the workers believe are long overdue, while government on the other hand says she is not in economic position to respond to the workers' call. They want 16 percent increment, citing the VAT increase, rising prices of food, fuel and other consumables as reasons for their demand.
