Potlako Molefhe: A man of many hats

In October 2007, an unassuming man attended the graduation ceremony of the University of Botswana in order to receive an honorary doctorate of laws.

Many of those who were in attendance that day were unaware of who he was and why he even merited such an honour.

Yet for those who knew of his contribution to that esteemed institution, the honour was not only well-deserved but also long overdue as it had been nearly three decades since he had spearheaded a campaign which directly led to the establishment of the University. Amongst the numerous roles Potlako Molefhe has had in his lifetime, this is the one for which he will most be remembered but it was by no means the first significant contribution he had made to Botswana society.
