Political education is key

Please allow me to make a few points about the way politics is conducted in Botswana. Many people involved in politics in Botswana are impatient. They are too busy to read between the lines. They do not take political education of the nation seriously. There is a lot of economic insecurity and it clouds people's thinking.

Leaders do not have enough time to read and think straight. We want education for our children but we hardly have time to turn a page or go to the library unless we are 'forced'.  Good leaders go to the library for fun. You can't govern without ideas. You can't have democracy without properly functioning schools, study groups, universities and learned societies.
