The decision was taken at a poorly attended kgotla meeting here this week Ikageleng kgotla. The meeting was attended mainly by the youth. A member of Ikageleng Ward Development Committee, Super Thipe, told the meeting that the committee was tasked by the leadership of Selebi-Phikwe to engage residents in the proper naming of the two wards in order to discontinue the technical names used for planning purposes.
Other names suggested for Phase One were Letsweletse, Tshwaraganong, Banamodi, Seriti, Tapologong, Ikageleng, Moepong and Pudulogo while Lethabile, Mophane, Thatogang, Kutlwano, Metsing, Phodiso, Same and Mokomoto were suggested for Phase Two. Some of the residents felt that the names should not be changed.
