Life goes better with the US Dollar in Zimbabwe

The so-called partial 'dollarisation' of the economy by the Zimbabwe Central Bank is in full swing as every seller is keen on the use of the American dollar, popularly referred to as'real money' in the troubled southern African economy.

Virtually everything is sold in US dollars or its equivalent in South African Rand. Even vegetables and tomato vendors have resorted to charging their customers in US Dollars because the proceeds from the sales should be 'real money' that is demanded by the grocery shops.
