Legae student scoops world award

Fifteen-year-old Sean Kagiso Masitara has become the first Motswana student to bag the coveted Top in the World Award in the 2011 IGCSE Cambridge examinations.

Last week his school, Legae Academy in Phase II, Gaborone was presented with the Top In the World certificate. He is the only Form V at the school to win the award this year.

The other two recipients of a similar award, Samuel Kikondu, and Feroz Mansor Bhamani are doing A levels, according to Legae Academy principal, Easo Oomen. The principal who has seen his school win the award in the last three years, says this year's achievement is even more special in that for the first time, a Motswana student is among the top world achievers.
