LCE: The death of a monumental treasure

To a visitor, the college looks more like a forest, only short of wild animals to populate its wild-looking environs. Weed have grown to shoulder length, and you would think the college management would have found it fit to keep the grounds clean and vegetation trimmed, if only to provide a picture of civility.
It is sad to note that LCE is one of the first colleges of education that produced most of Botswana's first teachers. Some of the alumni of this once pristine institution include the who's who of this country. These luminaries include the second president of the country, Sir Ketumile Masire, former cabinet minister Kebatlamang Morake and other members of parliament, who formed the first phase of this country's democratic government. One would have thought that a college with so much history would have been held in high esteem instead of being folded like a history book to collect dust on the shelves.
It underscores the indispensable role women play in our society, particularly in building strong households and nurturing families. The recognition of women as the bedrock of our communities is not just a sentiment; it's a call to action for all women to stand together and support each other in their endeavours.The society's aim to instil essential principles and knowledge for national development is crucial.
