KK - Lest we forget

A true visionary - KK was endowed with an uncanny mastery of future unfolding events.  His was a life devoted to the up-liftment of humanity and the material well being of mankind.  He was a man of immense personal courage.  During his studies in the then Soviet Union, at the height of the polemics between the two leading Socialist Powers (China and USSR), KK came out strongly and openly pointed out the short comings in the socialist model preferred by the latter, something heretic at the time, particularly when expressed by someone studying in the USSR.  Years later, he was vindicated in his prediction of the un-sustainability of the Soviet Socialist model of socialism.
His return to Botswana, after his studies in the Eastern Bloc happened at the height of the cold war.

A sizeable part of the African Continent was still labouring under the yoke of colonialism and wars of liberation were being waged by the Peoples of Africa to free themselves.  Africa had become one vast front of the cold-war between the super powers and proxy wars were set ablaze.  KK's return was therefore viewed with a lot of suspicion - not only by the then newly installed BDP Government, but by the South African and Rhodesian governments, who were proxies of the West in the war for global ideological dominance. At the time there was pervasive and systemic phobia for socialism amongst West - inclined states.
