Khama's guilty conscience

President Ian Khama addressed the just ended three-day African Governance Forum on Tuesday when

I really sympathise with the officer or whoever it was, who was tasked, or assigned to inform President Ian Khama that he is scheduled to deliver a speech about democracy and good governance. I have a feeling the poor fellow had nightmares on the night prior to this 'special assignment'.  Who would not? It is like being assigned to go and tell the President that he is scheduled to promote Heineken, Black Label, Hansa or Castle Lite at a music festival where Trompies, DJ Fresh, DJ Cleo or Vee are the main performers. It is like telling the alcohol-hating President to promote locally brewed Chibuku to an audience in Zola, Bontleng, Maruapula, Monarch, Kgaphamadi, Coloured, Botshabelo, or any other low-income location in our cities.

We should sympathise with the poor officer because, Khama, we are told, is armed 24/7 and is a black belt karateka who has shown very little interest in this thing called democracy. His dislike of democracy can be equated to his intense dislike of the Babylon waters - alcohol.
