An American, a one time ambassador to Botswana who was also a much liked man and a great socialite in Gaborone of his day, was quoted in Wikipedia reports as having said, at the end of his tenure in Botswana, that the people here were far from happy.
The particular context of his remark was the evacuation of the Basarwa community from the Central Kalahari Game reserve, but it could equally well apply to the rest of the country. That was during the reign of Festus Mogae.
