How opposition disunity helps BDP

Renowned scientist, Albert Einstein once said the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.

If the opposition contested the 2014 elections as one they would be in power as the nation goes to the polls next week.

This is clearly evident from the margins between the ruling party votes and those of the runners-up in many constituencies around the country.  Ordinarily, the strength of a party is presumed to be as good as its performance in the last election.

BDP primaries leave a lot to be desired

The BDP as a party known to have ample resources has always held its primaries well in time, but this time around that was not the case. The first leg of the primaries was held last weekend, with the final leg being billed for the coming weekend. This time around, the BDP failed to shine in its primary elections.
