Four SA border jumpers nabbed

Four young South Africans were arrested this week for crossing the border at an ungazetted point along the Ramatlabama border.

The four, a 26-year-old man and three women aged between 18 and 20, were arrested by the Ramatlabama police and detained at the police station.Ramatlabama Police Station Commander, Tshegofatso Mokumako, said in an interview that the culprits were arrested in the early hours of Tuesday by police on patrol. He said that they were nabbed near Tlhareseleele village after crossing the border fence.

"They are currently in police custody. They will be charged accordingly. These cases of crossing the border at ungazetted points are on the rise in our policing area. They mostly involve young people from South Africa and here. Others have relatives from both sides while some are friends," Mokumako said.
