Specifically, my mother was referring to the way pregnant women dress these days and young women's (in her opinion) heavy reliance on literature relating to pregnancy, childbirth and child rearing. My mother asserted:
"The children they write about do not exist in reality!" My sister insisted that "education is important and empowering". I listened on with fascination to this 'battle of the generations,' knowing that neither my mother nor my sister's way could be declared right as much as they could not be said to be wrong.
It underscores the indispensable role women play in our society, particularly in building strong households and nurturing families.
