SELEBI-PHIKWE: The Year 2011 has been an eventful one for this mining town on both the positive side and the negative front.  The town experienced so much economically, politically and socially.  As a result, Selebi-Phikwe continues to be a household name throughout the country.

Politically, the town started 2011 with drama ranging from the Botswana Congress Party tossing out its council candidate, Masego Ntsatsi, on the grounds that she did not meet the requirements stipulated by the party.
