Democracy and the SADC Gender Protocol saga: Women cry foul

The never ending fight for equal rights for women in the SADC region persists unabated.

Surely this issue deserves special attention and critical analysis at this time when we realise from all social and cultural evidence that the departure of women from the laborious, routine, mundaine attendant chores in kitchens and homes into the world of national and local politics, international business ventures, educational leadership, community development and full participation in all facets of society is irreversible.

It is time for all to look critically at what's happening  and critique all the political rhetoric and seemingly genuine but superficial commitment expressed by those representing the legislative and executive chambers and those occupying the corridors of power in SADC.
