Decentralise to curb rural-urban drift - BCP aspirant

The Botswana Congress Party (BCP) parliamentary candidate for Mogoditshane, Paul Mudongo has called on the government to decentralise in order to help curb rural- urban migration.

Mudongo believes that the rural-urban drift is caused by the fact that everything is centred in Gaborone.

He feels there is no need for all the government departments to have their headquarters in Gaborone.  In his view, even parastatals like the Botswana Vaccine Institute (BVI) should be relocated to places like Ngamiland where the foot and mouth disease (FMD) is prevalent.
