Cry my beloved Zimbabwe

For a Zimbabwean child the old adage: "Two sides of a coin" may not be easily conceptualised because for those born at the turn of the century have never seen a coin in the practical sense and in use. In Zimbabwe it has to be millions of dollars for a small commodity.

Because every supply of basic commodities is being run from the black market, it has created artificial shortages in some quarters for almost everything. The economy is literally run from the parallel market, even businesses' stock is sourced from the black market - and the prices are out of this world.

For those who can import goods into the country, they can charge what they want and the prices are just too exorbitant even for top civil servants.
