Celebrating Independence Day

As Botswana celebrates 46 years of independence this Sunday, many Batswana will be holding their celebrations in a way that best suits them. Mmegi Staff Writer MPHO TLALE took to the streets to find out what the Independence holidays have in store for Batswana

While the majority will have travelled home to be with their families, some will be visiting friends and as for others, they will remain in Gaborone. Boipuso (Independence Day) celebrations signify different things to Batswana, some think it has changed over the years while some think it is still the same. This is what people have to say about the Independence holidays and the way they see them.

The clearly still fit man who resides in Old Naledi says that Independence has changed  a lot since the days of his youth. He states that the joy that used to come with Botswana's Independence celebrations has changed to something different.
