Canada, UK firms clinch oil exploration contracts

LUSAKA: Two Commonwealth countries - Canada and the United Kingdom (UK) - were among nations whose companies recently clinched lucrative tenders as Zambia stepped up its gas and oil exploration.

They were Exile Resources of Canada and GB Petroleum of Britain.

Unveiling the ambitious programme in Lusaka, Minister of mines and minerals development, Maxwell Mwale said with the completion of the bidding process, the successful applicants would commence their explorations immediately.
