BHC staff fete childline children

The Botswana Housing Corporation (BHC) demonstrated that it is not all about making profits when BHC personnel converged on Childline premises on Saturday to give love to the resident children.

The BHC crew gave the children an early Easter gift by bathing and feeding them. They also cuddled and played with them.It was indeed a day to remember for the 20 children who were spoilt with tasty dishes and snacks by the caring BHC staff who were also given an opportunity to play with every child's favourite Sesame Street's famous cartoon, Elmo. They also watched joyfully as the children played on the Shriek jumping castles.

According to Childline coordinator Onkemetse Mbazo-Montsheki, they had been praying, asking God for this type of aid, as their organisation is non-profit making. Mbazo-Montsheki said given their financial problems, the organisation was delighted when BHC personnel approached them proposing to assist them. "BHC approached us with P50,000 budget and asked us what else we wanted them to do for us. We told them that we would like to make vegetable gardens that we could use to sustain ourselves and at the same time reduce our monthly expenditure on fresh vegetables," she told The Monitor.
