Why shoot the messenger?

Once again, the government is complaining about false and inciting reports by the private media.

This time around, the complaint emanates from an article carried by our sister publication, The Monitor, titled "Khama's Hatred For Modubule Frustrates Meeting".

The story was a report on a press conference addressed by four opposition MPs, namely, Botsalo Ntuane, Dumelang Saleshando, Isaac Mabiletsa and Nehemiah Modubule, who told how President Ian Khama had refused to meet with them as well as with leaders of BOFEPUSU to seek an amicable resolution to the public sector strike simply because he did not want Modubule, who was on the delegation. Predictably, the state media - BOPA, Btv and Radio Botswana - was not in attendance.
