Well Done Every Body

The 2009 elections have come and gone. The people have spoken. They have chosen their representatives for Parliament and council.

As expected, the ruling Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) registered a landslide victory. The BDP got 45 out the 57 parliamentary seats up for grabs. The Botswana Congress Party (BCP) did very well by winning five seats in Parliament while the Botswana National Front (BNF) got six. Nehemiah Modubule, who stood as an independent, retained his Lobatse seat.

Now that the elections are over, the expectation from the voters is that their representatives should get down to work immediately. This is not a far-fetched expectation because during the campaigns, promises were made to the electorate.
