United Zimbabwe administration takes toddler's step

Morgan Tsvangirai of the Movement for Democratic Change was sworn in yesterday as the Prime Minister of Zimbabwe in a unity government with President Robert Mugabe's ZANU-PF.

We understand the painful process and the risks associated with this process. We know that it has taken a giant leap of faith for both parties, especially MDC-T, which has been doubting Mugabe's motives, to finally put pen to paper.

When the warring parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding last year, we affirmed this paper's support for a peaceful solution - albeit a stop-gap one - to the Zimbabwean situation.
