Union leaders need to change

Last week, we carried a story that told of a very serious problem within the labour movement.

Reports show that unions, while very vocal about issues of human rights, including matters of corporate governance, among others, and rightly so, are found wanting when it comes to their own standards.

We hear of unions failing to submit audited reports. We now know that within the union leadership some individuals have usurped the power of the general membership and have become the over-riding powers in all union business.
