The Assistant Minister of Trade and Industry, Duke Lefhoko, is reported to have pleaded with the Land Boards to give the Botswana Export Development and Investment Authority (BEDIA) industrial plots. He was addressing a Kgotla meeting in Tlokweng.

Interestingly, Lefhoko reportedly revealed that Botswana missed an opportunity to have a branch of an Australian university on its soil primarily due to unavailability of serviced land. Monash University has since set up shop in South Africa. Ironically, Batswana make up a significant portion of that university's student population.

Honestly, we do not think this is true. Rather it is the management of the abundant resources, that is the problem.  The issue of prioritisation comes into the equation.
