The public must know the judges

In a stable democracy such as Botswana the judiciary, particularly the judges, are respected and believed to be impartial. They are hardly ever second guessed whenever they deliver judgements.

Judges preside over many cases of political and economic importance, and sometimes cases that are about the life and death of individuals. People generally trust that the judges will always have the wisdom of Solomon and deliver what is in law the fairest judgement.

Many more resign to judgements that have been handed down, no matter how resentful and hurting they find these judgements, because they believe in the system.
