The Jwaneng Town Council is currently undertaking a P65m infrastructure development programme in one of their locations, Unit 8.

But it has since been discovered that the area is sitting on a kimberlitic reservoir that cannot be ignored. The problem is that it seems there has been a communication breakdown between the ministries which are supposed to consult on such matters. These are the Ministries of Minerals, Energy and Water Resources and the Ministry of Local Government and the Jwaneng Town Council who are the developers.

Had there been proper consultation at the beginning, this mess would not have happened. The biggest question is what is going to happen to the millions of Pula that have been used to put up services in Unit 8?
