Tell the truth, Mr Speaker

Extended tours could come in handy in offsetting the effects of the financial crunch and the blues from the Christmas holidays.

The Speaker of the National Assembly, Patrick Balopi, is currently on an extended 'consultative tour' of the country to brief Batswana on the role and functions of Parliament, we are told. 

Perhaps there will be some value in what he intends to tell the people, but we remain guarded against the real probability that the tour will be used to spread falsehoods about events in Parliament.
