Media Bill: MPs must be candid

The debate rages in Parliament on the controversial Media Practitioners Bill and some MPs have been making their input during the discussions. So, we would like to applaud MPs who have shown a refreshing aptitude in appreciating the issues at the heart of the Bill.

Specially Elected MP Botsalo Ntuane has demonstrated an incisive appreciation of the most important issues the Bill may have an adverse impact on. Ntuane's back-grounding of his debate with an overview of the media and its role in a democratic society should have helped any MP who might not have had a firm understanding of media issues.
