Let's not mistake the trees for the forest

For two days, the Ministry of Communications, Science and Technology has bombarded readers and viewers of state-controlled media with reports that a group of youths stormed Btv offices where they allegedly demanded answers from the station management why their political rally was not covered by the national television last Sunday.

We have now established that the youths in question belong to the opposition Botswana Congress Party (BCP).

We state upfront that if indeed they stormed Btv offices as alleged, such conduct is discreditable. No matter how aggrieved they may have been, they ought to have exercised restraint regardless of their frustrations.
