Kuru celebrations offers time to reflecton bigger issues

In the past few weeks Gaborone residents took part in the 21st anniversary celebrations of the Kuru Family of Organisations (KFO).

The Basarwa-owned non-governmental organization staged art exhibitions, musical shows and a series of panel discussions covering diverse issues. There were also health presentations dealing with HIV/AIDS and TB.

KFO then noted that the objective of the celebrations was to "showcase not only our history, but also inform the public about the variety of positive activities the Basarwa are involved in: their achievements as well as factors that still hinder their full integration into Botswana society."
