Khama's Swaziland visit sends wrong message

Botswana needs friends. That is why this newspaper encourages President Khama to visit other countries to cement and build new relationships with the world.

We have noted that ever since he ascended to presidency, he has hardly travelled outside the country on official visits.

While at home, President Khama has been doing a lot in terms of touring the country, getting to know people, selling his vision and getting feedback from the public on what they expect from government.  This is commendable, but we still believe it is imperative for the President to acclimatise himself with the Botswana community while continuing to cultivate the international community.
