IST Africa 2011 talks could usher in new era

Amid the labour impasse between public service employees and the government, the country is this week hosting two major international events.

A galaxy of Information Technology (IT) experts from Africa and Europe are expected in the country for the all-important Information Technologies Africa 2011 (IST Africa 2011) conference, which started yesterday.

This conference brings under one roof about 300 critical players in information technology. Industry leaders from the academia, business and research institute are all attending alongside students of IT. This is a first for Botswana and we expect that our business people, schools and relevant government ministries will attend.
